A message from the Eagle Chamber of Commerce….

The Colorado High School Cycling League State Championships are coming to Eagle, October 17-19, 2014. This event will bring over 550 high school competitors AND their families from all parts of Colorado to Eagle for the weekend. Eagle’s newest trail, the “Haymaker” will be the course for the race, aptly named the Haymaker Classic State Championship.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

Some of these visitors will be allowed to camp at Brush Creek Park and the Eagle County Fairgrounds, while others will be filling our hotels… some are sold out. All will be eating in our restaurants, shopping in our stores, and enjoying much of what Eagle has to offer. So please join us in extending a warm welcome to these folks when they are here. …And please be patient, as there will be more traffic and fewer places park in town that weekend. But in the end this is a great event for Eagle, our local businesses, and our economy.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Of course with an event of this size, you can imagine the number of people and volunteers it will take to pull it off. So if you are interested in volunteering for the event please click here to browse the various volunteer opportunities throughout the weekend. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Saturday, 10/18 parents of the competitors will be taken on guided rides of Eagle’s trails while their children are busy pre-riding the course and meeting with coaches.

– Rides will leave from Mountain Pedaler at noon

– Ride options include – Ride with the Mayor! Or, ride with other local bike celebrities for those wanting a longer ride, or those wanting a more entry-level ride than Boneyard. So all abilities are welcome.

– The Ice Rink will be open to visitors for skating, showers, etc. for a fee

SPREAD THE WORD:
Lastly, please help spread the word about this event. Communication and making sure our local community is aware of this event is critical for creating a positive experience, for not only for our out of town guests, but Eagle residents as well.
